Everyone gets together for the start of Ceilidh Comhla

Hidden Gardens volunteers and local visitors of all ages came together to take part in Ceilidh Comhla. We enjoyed a wonderful summer’s evening in the gardens spending time sharing music, song, poetry, dancing and making new friends.

After all that fun, we enjoyed eating delicious pea, mint and roasted garlic soup and lavender shortbread made by our volunteers. The gardens offered a wonderful backdrop for the event creating a peaceful space to relax in the evening time.

We’re delighted to be one of a select few venues across the city to be hosting a Ceilidh Comhla event.

This event returns to the traditions of a Gaelic ceilidh, a gathering of friends with storytelling, song and dance.

Over an evening, artists from a range of cultural and artistic backgrounds will perform as everyone comes together to celebrate Scotland’s diverse communities.

An evening of fun, dancing and community spirit, suitable for the whole family.

Part of the Commonwealth Culture 2014 programme.
