Getting Started with iNaturalist

You can access iNaturalist on your smartphone or tablet

Getting started with iNaturalist is easy! Here we have our step by step guides to get set up with an account, logged in and connected with The Hidden Gardens.

On your mobile phone

For Android Devices:

Open the Google Play Store:

Tap the Play Store icon on your home screen or app drawer.

Search for iNaturalist:

Tap the search bar at the top of the screen.

Type “iNaturalist” and press the search icon.

Select the iNaturalist App:

Look for the iNaturalist app in the search results. It should have a green leaf icon.

Tap on the iNaturalist app listing.

Install the App:

Tap the “Install” button.

Wait for the app to download and install on your device.

Open the App:

Once installed, tap “Open” to launch the iNaturalist app.

Alternatively, find the iNaturalist icon on your home screen or app drawer and tap it to open.

For iOS Devices (iPhone/iPad):

Open the App Store:

Tap the App Store icon on your home screen.

Search for iNaturalist:

Tap the search icon at the bottom right of the screen.

Type “iNaturalist” into the search bar and tap “Search”.

Select the iNaturalist App:

Look for the iNaturalist app in the search results. It should have a green leaf icon.

Tap on the iNaturalist app listing.

Install the App:

Tap the “Get” button next to the iNaturalist app.

You might need to enter your Apple ID password or use Face/Touch ID to confirm.

Wait for the app to download and install on your device.

Open the App:

Once installed, tap “Open” to launch the iNaturalist app.

Alternatively, find the iNaturalist icon on your home screen and tap it to open.

Getting Started – Sign Up or Log In:

If you’re new to iNaturalist, you can create an account using your email, Google account, or Facebook account.

If you already have an account, simply log in with your credentials.

Start Exploring!! Once logged in, you can start exploring the app, making observations, and connecting with the community.

 

When you log a sighting which you spotted in The Hidden Gardens, as long as you have your geo location ON then it will automatically appear in our records!
