A damp September day didn’t deter visitors old and new to enjoy our final special event celebrating 10 flourishing years of The Hidden Gardens

Our fantastic ‘Voluntours’ Stephen Scrymgeour, Margaret Carlyle, Margaret Walker and Jean Thornton led their very own Tours of Discovery. Demand was so high we had to put on additional tours! Visitors enjoyed learning about the history of the site, the plant collection and the varied programme of activity that takes place year round.
“It was very lovely to experience how the volunteers are involved and love what they are doing here.”
“I had not been for many years and did not recall all the wonderful faces, it is really a lovely peaceful place.”
Meanwhile, in Tramway’s T4, Gardens founders Angus Farqhuar of NVA and Rolf Roscher of ERZ looked back over a packed ten years. Audience members were invited to share their thoughts and memories following the presentation, and enjoyed a post talk belther and cup of home made soup prepared and served by the Cultural Cookery group in the Boiler house.
In the afternoon, wee ones and their carers explored the wilder side of the gardens, investigating bee markings, using colour charts to find the palettes in nature and many more adventurous pursuits!
Thanks to visitors old and new for making this a fitting finale to our 10 year anniversary programme.
