An outdoor feast celebrating 10 years of Cultural Cookery workshops at The Hidden Gardens
On Saturday 19 March 2016 past and present participants of The Hidden Gardens Cultural Cookery programme came together to prepare a free feast for the local community.
Thai dhal with lemongrass, roasted root vegetable chilli, greek salad, chapatis, jewelled couscous and Syrian tea with mint and cardamom were the dishes made, by both the men and women’s groups.
More than 300 plates of food were served up, alongside live music from friends of the Gardens, food-themed arts and crafts activities and dance from our family project Artist Kate E. Deeming, and live chapati demonstrations led by Najma and Navshin.
Sincere thanks to all cooks, volunteers, staff, past and present participants, performers, funders and visitors for their contribution to a very special day.
