Gardening for Nature

Gardening for Nature is an accredited learning opportunity aimed at teaching people all about looking after wildlife in their garden or growing space.

Our group have been carrying out practical wildlife gardening indoors and outdoors. They have also worked in groups and individually too. All participants are working towards individual portfolios of work that they will take home with them at the end of the course.

We are now into the 3rd week of our ten week course and so far the group have been learning about:

 Composting

 Making bird boxes

 Making bug hotels

 Identifying wildlife in the garden

 The benefits of gardening for nature

Over the weeks ahead, we will be planning, designing, choosing and planting up a wildlife garden here at The Hidden Gardens. The Garden will be planted in our SAGE Cube in the Nursery Area, make sure you pop by around the middle of March to see at first hand our wildlife friendly design.

We wish all our participants good luck in achieving their level 1 or 2, Gardening for Nature qualification over the weeks ahead!
