Our opening times

Tuesday – Friday 10am – 5pm
Saturday and Sunday 12 – 3pm
(closed on Mondays)

The Gardens are free to visit and there is no need to pre-book. The Gardens rely on donations and grants to stay open and free, for the public to enjoy. You can support The Hidden Gardens by donating here.

To welcome you safely to the Gardens there is always a staff member present, and we still have a hand sanitiser dispenser at the entrance.

Getting here is easy whether you are walking, cycling, driving or taking public transport.

Bike
There are bicycle racks at our Pollokshaws Road entrance. We do not allow bicycles, tricycles, roller skates, skateboards or scooters into The Gardens.

Car
There is only on-street car-parking available. If driving along the M8, take Exit 20.

Bus
The 4, 5, 6 and 7 buses, operated by First Glasgow, take you to Victoria Road. Get off at LIDL, walk down Cuthbertson Street to Pollokshaws Road, where you will see the sign for The Hidden Gardens.

The 3, 38 and 57 buses, operated by First Glasgow, take you to Pollokshaws Road. Get off at McDonald’s and walk towards Albert Drive until you see the sign for The Hidden Gardens. McGill’s also operate a 3 bus, get off at Albert Drive.

The 59 bus, operated by First Glasgow, takes you to Albert Drive. Get off at Tramway and and walk around the corner to Pollokshaws road where you will see the sign for The Hidden Gardens.

Train
Only 5 minutes from Glasgow Central, trains to Pollokshields East station are every 15 minutes, operated by ScotRail. Once at Pollokshields East station, go up the stairs, turn right, and continue until you reach Tramway. Walk around the corner to Pollokshaws Road where you will see the sign for The Hidden Gardens.

How to find us

You can enter The Hidden Gardens from two entrances.

Main Entrance – the main entrance is via Pollokshaws Road, opposite the junction between Pollokshaws Road and Coplaw Street; please follow the green line!

Entrance via Tramway – Our neighbours, Tramway, are usually open from 12pm from Wednesday to Sunday. Follow the green line from Albert Drive entrance to the Gardens. Please check current Tramway opening hours on their website.

What can I do at The Hidden Gardens?

  • admire the plants
  • look for beasties
  • find a quiet place
  • enjoy a picnic
  • listen to the birds

For the enjoyment of all please make sure that children under 12 are accompanied by an adult and remember:

  • No smoking or vaping
  • Trained assistance dogs only
  • No loud music
  • No alcohol
  • No ball games
  • No bikes, scooters or skates
  • No climbing, picking or pruning

Access & Toilets

Access
The Gardens are fully wheelchair accessible at both entrances from Pollokshaws Road and through Tramway. There are wide stone paths around The Gardens, and ramps to take you into the Medicinal Courtyard and Boilerhouse.

Assistance dogs only allowed.

The nearest train station, Pollokshields East, does not currently have wheelchair access.

Toilets
There are no public toilets within The Gardens, but you can use public toilets (fully accessible) in Tramway. Please check current Tramway opening hours on their website.
(Tramway is usually open from Wednesday to Sunday, between 11am and 5pm)
